We are aware of a market-wide issue affecting a portion of customers in Scotland, following the update to Rateable Values effective from 1 April 2026, as part of the Assessor’s 2026–2029 revaluation period.
Scottish Water has identified that some Rateable Values received and processed were inaccurate. This has impacted some customer’s bills. They are working closely with the Scottish Assessors Association to confirm and correct this information as soon as possible.
Once the central industry database has been updated, Licensed Providers will be able to make the necessary adjustments to affected customer accounts.
Customers are asked to continue paying bills as issued. Any corrections will be reflected in subsequent billing, once the updated information has been applied by your Licensed Provider. Please note, this is a market-wide issue affecting all Licensed Providers.
We apologise on behalf of the industry for the inconvenience caused. The market is working collaboratively to resolve this issue promptly and to reduce the risk of similar occurrences in the future.
